University of Pittsburgh at Titusville Welcomes Jennifer Luxbacher as Assistant Professor of Nursing
TITUSVILLE, Pa. — The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer "Jenn" Luxbacher, MSN, RN, as Assistant Professor of Nursing, bringing extensive clinical, leadership, and educational experience to the University's nursing program.
Luxbacher joins Pitt-Titusville after a distinguished nursing career that has spanned critical care, advanced cardiovascular services, emergency transport medicine, and nursing education. She currently serves as a Senior Professional Flight Nurse and Base Lead for STAT MedEvac, where she provides advanced critical care transport services and clinical leadership to support high-acuity patient care throughout the region. She has served as a Flight Nurse with STAT MedEvac since 2018.
"Jenn's blend of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and commitment to nursing education makes her an outstanding addition to our faculty," said Dr. Jean Truman, director of nursing programs at Titusville and Bradford campuses. "Her real-world experience caring for critically ill patients in both hospital and air medical environments will provide our students with invaluable perspectives as they prepare to enter today's complex healthcare workforce."
Luxbacher is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Chatham University and recently completed a Master of Science in Nursing Education at Walden University. She also holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from the Lancaster General College of Nursing and Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/Government and Political Affairs from Millersville University. Her academic background reflects a commitment to both healthcare excellence and interdisciplinary learning.
Throughout her career, Luxbacher has demonstrated a passion for mentorship, professional development, and advancing evidence-based nursing practice. Her experience ranges from bedside critical care and cardiovascular patient management to air medical transport, providing students with insights into a broad spectrum of nursing specialties and career pathways.
In her new role, Luxbacher will contribute to classroom instruction, clinical education, student mentoring, and ongoing program development within Pitt-Titusville's nursing program. Her expertise will help further the University's mission of preparing compassionate, highly skilled nurses who are ready to meet the healthcare needs of rural and regional communities.
"Nursing is my second career, said Luxbacher, and despite earning dual degrees before entering nursing school, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. It was the best-worst decision of my life, and I would choose it again every time. As an educator, my goal is to remove the fear from nursing school. A little anxiety can motivate learning, but paralyzing fear prevents it. I'm here to help students build confidence, think critically, and learn how to find answers, even when they don't know them yet.”
The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville continues to strengthen its healthcare education offerings through the recruitment of accomplished faculty members who bring exceptional professional experience and a passion for student success.
